The Abbey National Web site is mainly commercial, but has other general information like the history of the group from its 19th century beginnings in London to the present. From its origins as a loan and deposit facility for the Co- operative Wholesale Society, the Co-operative Bank has evolved into a modern bank offering the usual financial services including its Smile Internet banking operation. There is a section on the bank's "Customers who Care" campaigns - outlining contributions to charities and featuring news articles on these issues. The Lloyds TSB bank web site has sections on personal and business banking services. It offers a wide range of online services both for banking and insurance. It offers search through Lycos, which covers a branch locator and rate and charges. There's a section for students offering free banking with e-bank, advice on what to do after University and tips to cope with money worries. There's a link to Cheltenham and Gloucester, which is part of the group.
The Nat West Bank's Web site, with sections on its personal banking services, small businesses, corporate banking and other services. For teachers, there is information on the Nat West's Face 2 Face with Finance programme, and a link to the site. This has been produced in response to the new National Curriculum subject, personal finance education. There is also a link to the Royal Bank of Scotland site, as Nat West is now part of this group.
