Six Plays for Way Points 2000 and 2000 Plus
This
unique and original teaching project presents six short musicals based
on well-known literary works that students can prepare and perform. Acting
and singing in public helps to build up self-confidence without which
no one can really learn to speak a language. The musicals are Cinderella,
The Jungle Book, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, King Arthur and the
Knights of the Round Table, The Taming of the Shrew and A
Christmas Carol.
The linguistic contents are organized according to the syllabus of an Italian junior high school language course (Way Points 2000 and 2000 Plus) and of the Common European Framework of Reference.
Students practise and use the structures and vocabulary required for levels A1 and A2.
For each musical, there are:
notes about the story and the author as well as a synopsis of the musical;
the cast of
characters;
two pages with
suggestions for costumes;
the script of
each musical with glossaries to help comprehension;
the complete
score with chords.
The Student' Book contains two audio CDs with the recording of the six complete musicals.
The Teacher's Guide contains an introduction on how to use musicals, indications for each musical concerning the characters involved, detailed production notes, drawings to help in the creation of the stage scenery as well as language notes and teaching suggestions.
There are also two audio CDs containing the instrumental backing track and the choruses.
