Non-verbal: Non verbale.

To take place, happen, especially of unpleasant events.

Operator: Centralinista, telefonista.
A person who works a telephone switchboard.

Oral: Orale.
Spoken, not written.

Outline: Profilo, schizzo, elementi essenziali.
A line showing the shape of something; the main ideas or facts of something without detail.

Overview: Visione d'insieme, rassegna generale.
A usually short account of something which gives a general picture but no details; summary.

(To) Pave the way: Aprire la via, spianare la strada.
To prepare for or make possible.

(To) Persuade: Persuadere.
To make someone willing to do something by reasoning, arguing, repeatedly asking, etc.

(To) Portray: Descrivere, rappresentare.
To be or make a representation or description of; to describe according to one's opinion.

(To) Practice: Esercitarsi, allenarsi, fare pratica.
To do an action or perform regularly or repeatedly in order to gain skill; to make a continuous use of.

Presentation: Presentazione.
A talk, usually to a group of people, in which information is given.

(To) Press: Spingere, premere.
To push something small firmly and steadily; to urge strongly.

(To) Process: Trattare, elaborare, sviluppare.
To treat and prepare by a particular process; to put information, numbers, etc. into a computer for examination; to examine or deal with, especially by means of an established system or process.

Proxemics: Prossemica.
It refers to man's use of personal space. It also refers to physical and personal territory and the way people use and perceive them.

(To) Put forth: Produrre, fare.
To produce and send out.

(To) Put through: Dare la comunicazione con, passare.
To connect, a telephone caller, by telephone; to make a telephone call.

Rapport: Rapporto, relazione.
It is the ability to establish relationship with someone. Rapport includes nonverbal communication such as eye contact, body language, tone and volume of your speaking as well as speed or pacing. In short, rapport is the ability to be fully present with someone.

(To) Receive a call: Ricevere una telefonata.
To get a telephone call.

Receiver: Ricevitore (del telefono), destinatario.
The part of a telephone that is held to one's ear.

(To) Rehearse: Provare, fare le prove.
To practise in order to prepare for a public performance.

(To) Ring up: Telefonare, chiamare.
To make a telephone call; to call someone on the telephone.

Schedule: (v) Programmare, pianificare. To plan for a certain future time. (n) Scaletta, programma, piano. A planned list or order of things to be done, dealt with, etc.

Self awareness: Autoconsapevolezza, autocoscienza.
It means to be aware of your own feelings, values, needs, desires and motives. Knowing yourself is critical if you expect others to "get" who you are and what you want. Being self aware also allows you to set appropriate limits in your dealings with people.

Sensitivity: Sensibilità, delicatezza, permalosità.
Knowledge or consciousness of the feelings or opinions of others; having feelings that are easily hurt, or offended.

(To) Skip: Saltare, omettere, tralasciare.
To pass over or leave out; not to do or deal with the next thing; to fail to attend or take part in.

Slide: Diapositiva.
A small piece of film in a frame for passing strong light through to show a picture on a surface; a picture to be shown through a video projector, usually from a computer.

(To) Spark: Accendere, dar fuoco, incitare, stimolare.
To produce a small flash of light; to be the cause of, especially something violent or unpleasant; to lead to; encourage, stimulate into greater activity.

(To) Speak up: Parlare a voce alta. Dirne quattro, farsi sentire.
To speak more loudly; to give one's opinion freely and clearly.

(To) State: Dichiarare, affermare.
To say, express or put into words, especially formally; to mention exactly, especially before or in advance.

(To) Stretch: Ampliare, spaziare.
To cause to become wider or larger; to cause to go beyond natural or proper limits.

Switchboard: Centralino telefonico.
A central apparatus at which telephone lines are connected or disconnected, for example in an office building.

Synergy: Sinergia.
It is the dividend that is derived from combining people, resources, ideas and energy in new and innovative ways.

(To) Take down: Tirar giù, abbassare, calare.
To separate a large machine or article into pieces, especially in order to repair it or move it; to lower without actually removing something.

(Tele)phone booth/box: Cabina telefonica.
Small hut or enclosure containing a telephone for use by the public.

Telephone directory/phone book: Elenco telefonico.
A book containing an alphabetical list of the names, addresses and telephone numbers of all the people who own a telephone in a certain area.

(To) Thread: Infilare, pervadere, ragionare.
A line of reasoning connecting the parts of an argument or story, a repeated pattern or idea.

Tilde: Tilde.
A mark placed over the letter n in Spanish as a sign that it is pronounced 'gn'.

(To) Trace: Rintracciare, scoprire.
To find a thing or person by following their course; to find the origins of by finding proof or by going back in time.

Training: Formazione, addestramento.
Giving or being given a course of instruction or practice, especially in a profession or skill.

Transparency: Lucido, diapositiva.
A piece of photographic film, usually in a square holder by means of which a picture can be seen when light is passed through it.

Uninhibited: Disinibito.
Free in behaviour and feelings, especially doing and saying what one likes without worrying about what other people think; having no inhibition.

Unnoticed: Inosservato, inavvertito.
Not seen, unobserved.

Upset: Agitato, turbato, sconvolto, che non sta bene.
Worried, confused, ill especially in the stomach.

Vineyard: Vigna, vigneto.
A piece of land planted with vines for wine production.

Visual aids: Sussidi visivi.
Visual aids help to make a presentation more lively. They can also present information that would be difficult to follow through speech alone. The two most common forms of visual aid are overhead transparencies (OHTs) and computer slide shows (e.g. PowerPoint).

(To) Voice: Dar voce, esprimere. Pronunciare una consonante sonora.
To express in words, especially forcefully; to produce a sound, especially a consonant with the movement of the vocal cords.

(To) Waste: Sprecare.
To use wrongly, not to use or use too much.

Withhold: Qualcosa che viene tenuto nascosto, celato.
A withhold is a consciously or unconsciously held thought or feeling that needs to be communicated but which is withheld due to some uncomfortable emotional charge associated with the item in question.

(To) Work out: Elaborare, risolvere, decifrare.
To find by reasoning or calculating; to plan or decide; to reach a stead result by being calculated.

Worker: Operaio.
Someone who works with their hands rather than their minds.
